Planning your honeymoon vacation can oftentimes be one of the first instances where you and your partner will have to meet in the middle. One of you wants to go somewhere with a vibrant nightlife. The other wants to run off to some exotic island. What do you decide to do?

There are plenty of honeymoon destinations that can provide a few specialized experiences. But there are very few places that have it all. Tahiti is one of those rare destinations where everyone can find something to enjoy.

Culture and Nightlife
If you are looking to simply get away from it all, then the French Polynesian islands of Moorea or Bora Bora might be right for you. But if you want to escape the typical tourist traps, yet still experience a healthy dose of culture, you can find it in Tahiti.

The island of Tahiti is the largest and most populous of French Polynesia. It has a lush history and plenty of modern day amenities.

In July, the people of Tahiti celebrate with the Heiva festival. It includes traditional dance performances, live music, and various sports. One such sporting event is a long distance canoe race that goes from island to island!

Tahiti is also home to the Paul Gauguin Museum. Gauguin was a French Post-Impressionist artist who spent years on the island painting its landscapes and people. Gauguin originally went to Tahiti because he was in search of a place to “live on fish and fruit.” This tropical paradise provided that and greatly helped to develop his distinctive artistic style.

The capital city of Papeete has a lively nightlife and plenty of fine restaurants. It is also home to the only museum in the world dedicated entirely to pearls, the Robert Wan Pearl Museum. Stop by after exploring the local art being sold at the bustling Papeete Market.

Peaceful Beaches
By far one of the highlights of Tahiti is its many fabulous beaches. The best part of all is how remarkably crowd-free they are. Did you know that more tourists come to Hawaii in just ten days than visit Tahiti in an entire year?

It is amazing how easy it is to find your own little piece of paradise in Tahiti. You can go snorkeling, walk along the beach, or just soak up the sun in peace and quiet.

Fantastic Accommodations
There are more rooms in the average large hotel in Las Vegas than there are in the whole of French Polynesia. But that just means that the places available in Tahiti focus on quality rather than quantity.

The Le Meridien Tahiti is a luxury hotel that offers four-night packages with the fourth night free. This resort has bungalows that stand on stilts over the water of a tranquil lagoon. It even has a sand-bottom pool!

When planning your honeymoon, it is important to talk to your spouse about what exactly he or she is looking for. If it looks like you two need to compromise, Tahiti is one option that is sure to make everyone happy.
