Honeymoon Vacation in Florida

With its white sand beaches, clear warm waters and tropical weather, Florida is a haven for honeymooners. The only question is where to go? Because the Sunshine State depends on tourist dollars, there are always special deals on flights, hotels, and car rentals.

Many resorts even offer package deals for newlyweds. In this article, we will take a look at three of the most popular destinations for honeymooners in Florida.

Key West
Get a taste of the Caribbean without leaving the U.S. Key West is the last stop on Florida’s famous U.S. Route One, which is also the southernmost tip of the country. Often described as colorful and bohemian, Key West is an island and it certainly has an island vibe. The people are laid-back, fun loving and the weather is tropical, like most of the Caribbean.

But the city also has a bit of a split personality. You see, during the day it is quiet and relaxing, but when the sun goes down, things really heat up. An impressive assemblage of nightclubs bars and eateries give honeymooners all the options they need.

Local Activities

Tours: When most couples arrive in Key West, they want to get to know the island a bit. At only four miles long and two miles wide, it is possible to see the sights on a half-day tour. The Key West Conch Train Tour is a fun and affordable way to get a look at the Historic Seaport, Old Town, and the Ernest Hemingway House.

Sunset Cruises: The sunsets on Key West are so beautiful that many couples insist on getting a better look at them from out on the water. Private charter companies on the island offer romantic sunset cruises.

Mallory Square: Located at the center of the island’s historic Waterfront, Mallory Square is famous for its sunset celebrations, which take place every night. Friends, families, and lovers gather to celebrate the end of another day and the beginning of a memorable night.

Orlando
Due to its popular theme parks, Orlando is a perennial contender for the most visited city in America. But what most people don’t know is that the city is also one of the country’s top destinations for honeymooners. While the theme parks were designed for families, in recent years they have started offering more activities and events just for couples.

Local Activities

Time Together: Lake Eola Park is a popular spot in downtown Orlando where newlyweds can have a picnic, take a leisurely stroll, feed the swans, or rent a paddleboat. It is only a ten-minute ride from Walt Disney World. Dancing: If you want some company, the Latin Quarter at Universal Resorts is home to the famous CityWalk. Cocktails, Cuban food and sultry dances can be found at the 30-acre entertainment complex.

Renew Your Vows: Disney World offers a popular vow renewal program called Disney Fairytale Weddings that tens of thousands of couples take part in every year. No wonder Walt Disney World is Florida’s number one second honeymoon destination.

Miami

For newlyweds who are looking for fun in the sun, Miami Beach is at the top of the list. Nowhere else will you find such an exotic mix of architecture, fashion, and culture. The most popular destination in Miami for honeymooners is South Beach.

Local Activities

Sightseeing: No city in America, or even the world, looks anything like South Beach. The famous Art Deco District is home to historic restaurants, art galleries, museums, and resorts.

Food: No trip to South Beach would be complete without a stop at a Cuban Restaurant. The area consistently ranks number one for the best Cuban food, outside of Cuba, of course.

South Pointe Park: With live music on the weekends, a cool ocean breeze, and shimmering palm trees, South Pointe Park is a perfect place of a picnic. We recommend two Cuban sandwiches and a few cold cervezas. A bustling state full of entertainment, activities, and unique sites, Florida is an incredible place to book a honeymoon getaway.
