Here are several ideas for popular places to visit on your honeymoon travel adventure during the summer months.

French Polynesia

With its blue lagoons, lush vegetation, and tropical breezes, there's nowhere else on earth quite like this South Pacific island chain. You've probably heard about individual locations within French Polynesia's Society Islands, such as Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea. Despite the remote nature of the islands, there are plenty of upscale resorts to choose from like the Le Meridien Tahiti, the Sofitel Bora Bora Marara Beach Resort, and the Intercontinental Moorea Resort and Spa.

Hawaii

It's been one of the most popular honeymoon destinations over the last several decades for a reason. There are the sun kissed beaches of Oahu, the volcanic beauty on Kona, the pulsating nightlife on Maui, and the lush beauty of Kauai. From the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa on Oahu and the Fairmont Kea Lani Maui to the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and the Fairmont Orchid on Kona, there are a cornucopia of resorts and hotels where you can enjoy the lounging, luaus, and luxury offered by America's 50th state.

Mexico

The eastern Yucatan peninsula of America's southern neighbor attracts millions of tourists annually to its white sandy beaches, comfortable tropical breezes, and cool ocean waters. Travelers can choose from Cancun, Cozumel, Riviera Maya, Cabo San Lucas, or Playa del Carmen – all of which boast lazy cantinas, colorful shopping districts, and festive nightlife. Some popular spots include the Royal Hideaway Playacar and Excellence Riviera Cancun in Riviera Maya and the Le Blanc Spa Resort in Cancun.

Key West

The jewel of the Florida Keys, Key West is ideal for honeymoon couples for lounging by the pool or lying on the beach by day and then drinking margaritas and partying tropics-style at night. If you're more active, the Keys have more snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, and fishing than any other spot in the continental United States. The Hyatt Key West Resort combines modern amenities with a Caribbean atmosphere of relaxation.

Jamaica

This northern Caribbean island features breathtaking sunsets which are almost as bright as the smiles on the faces of the Jamaicans. The curious couple can go wandering through lush vegetation, along scenic beaches, and even underneath majestic waterfalls near the mountains. Couples Tower Isle is an all-inclusive couples-only resort which incorporates a clothing optional private island.

Aruba

After becoming independent from the Netherlands only about a quarter century ago, this diminutive 120-square mile island still harbors much of its traditional Dutch culture. But Aruba provides entertainment for almost every kind of traveler – from casinos and water sports to serene beachcombing to colonial heritage tours. The Bucuti Beach Resort on Eagle Beach caters to honeymoon couples who wish to lose themselves in the rhythm of the southern Caribbean.

Antigua and Barbuda

Situated in the middle of the Leeward Islands, this Caribbean destination is known for its sailing culture, natural beauty, coral reefs, and laid-back atmosphere. Tourists can also visit a wildlife preserve on uninhabited Redona Island., where hundreds of bird species flock. The Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa is a beachfront resort on Dickenson Bay whose pampering suites and nine restaurants cater to couples who have romance on their minds.

St. Lucia

The island in the Lesser Antilles packs all of the Caribbean tourism experiences into one relatively small area. In addition to black and white sand beaches and well-formed coral reefs, St Lucia boasts two mountain peaks, a lush rainforest, a rich colonial history, and exciting nightlife. The Sandals Regency La Toc Golf resort and spa spans over 210 acres and features fine dining and private pools in addition to golf and spa services.

Venice

If you prefer your honeymoon European style, this southern Italian tour locale is famous for its romantic gondola rides through the tributaries of the city. But Venice, which sits on one of more than 100 islands in the Venetian lagoon, exudes old world charm with its towering palaces, quaint piazzas, and charming residential districts. Dei Dogi, a Boscolo Luxury Hotel in Venice, sits along the Grand Canal in an 18th-century palazzo which blends interior opulence and private gardens with an air of European romance.

Paris

And of course, you can always show your affection and fondness for one another in the city that was practically built for lovers. There are so many sights to see in the French capital, from the architecture of its cathedrals and monuments to the plethora of art museums – or you can just stroll along the river Seine and gaze upon the Eiffel Tower in your spouse's arms. The Hotel Lutetia, the only luxury hotel on the Left Bank of the river, is right in the middle of Paris' vibrant fashion district and near the Louvre and Orsay museums.

As newlyweds, you probably don't require a magnificent setting in which to express your love and devotion to one another. But a spectacular summer honeymoon locale certainly doesn't hurt.
