Our Relief Efforts

The Caribbean, OPEN for Vacation: Call us at (866) 601-1513 and we’ll have you on your way. We did away with the long list of what’s open and what’s not because that’s our job to know, not yours to read. Consider us the best cliff notes for vacation planning.

A Message From Our President

I have no doubt that you have received a number of emails from clothing brands, stores and others at this point about post-hurricane relief efforts and donations. I do apologize for the delay in getting this out; I hope you will agree it comes with a good explanation.

Our travel consultants and 24/7 team have been working just that – around the clock – rebooking customers, checking in on our hotel partners and compiling the most up-to-date reports on the impact the storms had in the affected destinations. Those who are in recovery mode in the Caribbean, Florida and Texas are our customers, associates, suppliers and friends. This has hit close to home and our homes-away-from-home, as our longstanding relationships in the Caribbean run deep. When a friend is in need, you step in and step up your game.

We have several programs in place to help rebuild the areas that have been devastated by the series of weather-related events that have hit. While Hurricane Maria is top of mind, let us not forget those in need as a result of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma as well as the two earthquakes in Southern Mexico. Internally, our employees are participating in multiple donation drives that are being matched by Flight Center Travel Group. Through our employee contributions and the company’s matching funds, we have raised in excess of $75,000 thus far. The money will be donated to long-term Hurricane Recovery through the Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity, specifically benefiting Habitat Hammers Back. The second drive is with the GlobalGiving Foundation, which is raising money for the victims of the Mexican earthquakes.

There is always a bright side. In this case for me it is hearing the stories of getting out on the last flight before the airport closed and helping someone’s mother-father-son-daughter-aunt-uncle-grandparent home safe and sound. Our travel consultants have donned their superhero capes as they always do in times such as this. We have compiled some stories of those who were saved (quite literally) by their travel consultant getting them where they needed to be that we thought you might like to read HERE.

For those wondering, "What now?" or "Where can I travel to?", we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions as an overarching guide that you can read HERE. As always, for specific concerns and questions, please contact a Liberty Travel consultant at (866) 601-1513 or the location nearest you.

If you would like to make a donation, please consider these charities: American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity Disaster Relief.

With Hope & Gratitude,

Randy Alleyne
