Playa Rincón is a mainstay on Condé Nast’s top 10 Caribbean beaches list, and rightfully so. Situated on the eastern coast of Samaná peninsula, 2,000 foot high cliffs tower over the shore. It is a truly stunning location to relax and soak up the sun. It is a decent trek to reach the beach of Playa Rincón, but once you're there it’s well worth the effort. The white-sand beaches are highlighted by turquoise waters ideal for snorkeling.
Positioned along the Amber Coast, this is one of the most up-and-coming locations in Dominican Republic and the smooth beaches are one of the reasons. Hoteliers have been flocking to this region capitalizing on the gorgeous surroundings. The waters become rough at times, perfect for windsurfers, surfers and water-skiers, but the waters and location are wonderful for every traveler.
Located on the eastern coast of the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana is perhaps the island's most frequented destination and its illustrious beach is one major reason for the attraction. Punta Cana is a tourist heaven, with luxurious all-inclusive hotels lining the silky-smooth shores. This 20-mile stretch of beach boasts wide, golden sand shores complimented by calm waters safe for year-long swimming.
Playa Boca Chica
The fine, pristine beach of Boca Chica is considered one of the Caribbean’s best beaches. The waters are protected by coral reefs, producing relatively calm waters, making it perfect for families with younger children. This is a beach perfect for people looking for a lively atmosphere as it is located only 20 miles from Santo Domingo. Crowds of people come to enjoy the cafes, bars and music filled air of this coconut tree lined beach.
This island is set off the Samaná peninsula, near the mouth of the Bahía de Samaná, and possesses one of the premier beaches in the Dominican Republic. Travelers will have a great feel of seclusion once on the island as there is little in the way of facilities. Active travelers also have an alternative to the three stretches of white-sand beaches, there are hiking trails through the island's foliage covered hills. The island is only a short ferry ride from the mainland.
