Vacation-Perfect Provo

If you want a perfect beach and are a foodie, this is the island for you. I was a little nervous about the nightlife. While this Caribbean island certainly isn’t Vegas, there actually are plenty of things to do! Apart from white-sand beaches with waters that are perfect for all types of swimmers, you’ll find local festivities, historic ruins, lively seaside bars, luxe resorts, private boat tours and a great restaurant scene that will leave you wanting more.

Must-See: Grace Bay Beach. Enough said. The crystal blue waters and white-powder sand will simply WOW you!

Must-Do: The Fish Fry is a big event each Thursday on the island where different vendors set up tents with lots of local food and endless rum punches!

Restaurant Recommendations: Try Coyoba and Sui Ren for fine dining (just perfection!) and a small, local restaurant in town called Fresh Catch and Thai Orchid for delicious food, decent pricing, and friendly service.

Here’s where I stayed: The Palms and The Shore Club

Hotel Review:

The Palms is located on Grace Bay, a stunning beach. The hotel is great for couples or multi-gen families looking for full kitchens with 1 and 2 bedroom configs. Service was great. Lots of families here, so kids would have playmates. The Spa is also ranked one of the best in the entire Caribbean!

The Shore Club is super hip and modern with a fire pit in the middle of the pool. Expect Sunday pool parties! The spa is located in individual cottages right in the middle of the jungle. It was the most peaceful treatment I have ever had. This hotel is located on Long Bay Beach, other side of the island. You can walk for about 4 miles straight out into the water as it doesn’t get deep. Perfect for water sports and little kids.

Insider Tip: Make dinner reservations ahead of time (which I would love to help out with)! AND if you are a dog lover…the Potcake Rescue league is always looking for travelers to help walk and socialize the dogs, or even take one home! SO CUTE!
